Today’s topic introduces the concept of using rituals as a symbolic way to leave work stress behind and transition into a relaxed state at home. Some examples of rituals are taking off a work lanyard, touching a rock, washing hands with water, lighting a scented candle, and accompany with affirmations.
I explain the science behind using rituals, emphasizing their ability to create psychological boundaries and provide a sense of control. Additionally, I recognize that home life can also be a source of stress , and suggest creating a dedicated relaxation space at home for breathing exercises and solitude. You could decide the space is a calming corner, lying on the bed, or taking a hot bath with candles.
I encourage you to try these rituals, and share your experiences with me! I want to share a resource that will help to create this space in your life, as well as give you space to create calm. My workbook Chaos to Calm is available and I’m confident will leave you feeling more calm within the chaos of life.
